Keynote speaker: 

Dr Paweł Capik – Director of Postgraduate Research at the College of Business and Law, University of West England in Bristol, UK. Prior to joining Bristol Business School in July 2019, he worked at Keele University, Sheffield Hallam University, University of the West of Scotland and University of Glasgow. He was also a Visiting Faculty at Grenoble Ecole de Management, France. In his research, Paweł focuses on the relationships between international business strategies and operations and regional development theory and practice, particularly in the context of emerging and transition economies.

Results of his research have appeared as monographs, book chapters, reports and papers published in international journals including Advances in International Management and Entrepreneurial Business and Economics Review.

Dr Paweł Capik has supervised doctoral students working on projects exploring political economy of financial sector investments in Africa, contact centres management within the service science context, and application of psychoanalytical techniques in the strategy process. Currently he is supervising PhD and DBA candidates studying migrant firm internationalisation, SMEs export from volatile territories and international aid and public diplomacy.

His research fields include regional finance, international finance, international economics, regional economics, financial geography, and regional innovation. He has been a visiting scholar at a number of prestigious universities, including the University of Oxford, UK, and Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. He is a member of the editorial boards of international journals.

She is a sociologist researching social innovation, the future avenues for sustainable consumption and production systems, and digital capitalism. She obtained her PhD in Local Development and Global Dynamics at the University of Trento, and a PhD in Sociology at Corvinus University of Budapest. She is an active Professor at the Doctoral School of Business and Management. She is a Founding member of the Karl Polanyi Research Center at CUB. She is a coach and mentor at hackathons and digital startup projects. She is interested in the potential of social value creation with respect to social change, in the intersection of art, technology, and design.

Keynote speaker: Prof. Hildegunn Kyvik Nordås is visiting professor at Örebro University and worked at the Trade and Agriculture Directorate at the OECD in Paris. Her research interests are international trade in services and services in the digital economy. She has extensive international research, teaching, and policy experience: two years at the research department at the WTO, one year as a visiting scholar at Stanford University, also some time at Norwegian and South African universities.

Keynote speaker: Prof. Krzysztof Jajuga is a full professor of finance at Wrocław University of Economics and Business, Poland. He is the Chairman of the Department of Financial Investments and Risk Management. He holds a master, doctoral, and habilitation degree from the Wrocław University of Economics and Business, a titular professor given by the President of Poland, an honorary doctorate from the Cracow University of Economics, and an honorary professorship from Warsaw University of Technology. He carried out research and published numerous papers and monographs in the area of financial markets, risk management, household finance, multivariate statistics, and quantitative methods in economic sciences. He is editor-in-chief of Argumenta Oeconomica (JCR journal). Among others, he is the founder and president of CFA Society Poland. He holds the position of Chairman of the Committee of Statistics and Econometrics of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Keynote speaker: Prof. Marcos Ferasso, Ph.D. He holds Bachelor, Specialist, Master of Sciences, and Ph.D. degrees in Business Management. He concluded two postdoctoral research training in Brazil and in France. Currently, Dr. Ferasso is studying ‘Technology Entrepreneurship: Lab to Market’ at Harvard Business School. His Ph.D. dissertation was written in the quasi-mixed methods approach and was awarded twice: Highly Commended Award winner, 2017 edition of Emerald/CLADEA Management Research Fund Award, EMERALD Publishing – Consejo Latinoamericano de Escuelas de Administración CLADEA (EUA) in 2017; and Highly Commended Award winner, 2017 Emerald/EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Awards in the Management and Governance category, Emerald Publishing & European Foundation for Management Development – EFMD (United Kingdom) in 2018.
